Each stock's contribution is its share of the theoretical portfolio times its own session change — the result is in percentage points of the index. A large company falling slightly can weigh more than a small one collapsing.
We use the current theoretical portfolio and each stock's close. The real index is computed by B3 throughout the session, trade by trade, with its own reductor — so the sum of the parts does not match the published change exactly. The gap also grows when part of the portfolio has no collected quote, which is why coverage is stated above.
